2020 has been a heck of a year. The pandemic has caused a meteoric global shift to industry and no sector has been more affected than hospitality and events. It’s important to point this out, as this was the sole reason why my team created Camflare.
Hi, I’m Neil Bentley, the founder of Camflare (A Swipe Digital App) and sister companies WEBVID and Crowdscreen.
Back in March 2020, our team of creatives based in our London HQ relocated as remote workers. It was an incredibly challenging time for us as we didn’t know how things were going to pan out.
One thing I was sure about was that my team are innovators and face challenges, however big, head on.
As we adapted to the new normal, our content teams created new opportunities with new global clients and one of the projects was to record and receive video from speakers and presenters in North America.
Sure, you can do this on Teams, Zoom, Hangouts and Skype - but the in-cloud recording was dependant on the internet being robust in all locations. Which it wasn’t and still isn’t.
I soon identified that recording at source was the key and along with other bits of learning too, realised it had to be easy and require no downloading of apps. Add to this that the storage had to be on platforms you already trust. Front of mind was Dropbox and Google Drive, two of the most trusted and flexible solutions available.
The seed was sown.
Alongside the development of the core code (headed up by our head of digital development Steve Higgins), our creative teams worked tirelessly to create a full brand identity for Camflare, as well as the website/app layout you see today. Our social media streams became live and the first users of the platform signed in on 22nd July.
I’m so proud of what we have all achieved within 4 months. Now it’s all about our users, you, who are growing every day.
Already we’ve noticed our users creating marketing campaigns to connect with their audiences, implementing quick video auditions (for recruitment and the arts) and making social media videos for upload to LinkedIn, Facebook and Twitter. All for free and with nothing to download.
It’s so exciting and I’d love to hear how you are using Camflare. Record me a short video here:
